Doctrinal Statement

This statement expresses the general Bible-believing, Independent Baptist convictions reflected by this directory.

KJVBaptistChurches.Online is a directory resource, not a denomination, association, or governing body. Each local church is independent and should be contacted directly regarding its doctrine, standards, and ministry practices.

1. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, preserved, infallible Word of God. We believe God has preserved His Word for English-speaking people in the King James Bible. The King James Bible is our final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, practice, and Christian living.

2. The True God

We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. These three are one God, equal in divine perfection, power, and glory.

3. The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, virgin born, sinless in life, fully God and fully man. We believe He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to Heaven, and is coming again.

4. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, seals, guides, teaches, and empowers believers for godly living and service.

5. Creation

We believe God created the heavens and the earth by His spoken Word. We reject the idea that mankind is the product of evolution. Man was created by God in His image.

6. Man, Sin, And The Fall

We believe man was created innocent, but by voluntary transgression fell into sin. As a result, all mankind is sinful by nature and by choice and stands in need of salvation.

7. Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is not earned by baptism, church membership, good works, sacraments, or personal merit.

A sinner is saved when he repents toward God and places his faith in Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, trusting His death, burial, and resurrection for forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

8. Eternal Security

We believe every truly born-again believer is kept by the power of God and is secure in Christ forever. Salvation is the gift of God and cannot be lost by those who are truly saved.

9. The Local Church

We believe the local New Testament church is a congregation of baptized believers, organized to worship God, preach the Word, observe the ordinances, edify the saints, and carry out the Great Commission.

We believe each local church is independent, self-governing, and accountable directly to the Lord Jesus Christ as its Head.

10. Baptism And The Lord’s Supper

We believe there are two ordinances for the local church: believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is for those who have personally trusted Christ as Saviour and is a public testimony of faith. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death until He comes.

11. Separation

We believe Christians are called to live holy, separated lives unto the Lord. This includes separation from worldliness, false doctrine, and religious compromise, while maintaining a spirit of grace, truth, and compassion toward others.

12. Soul Winning And Missions

We believe the church has been commanded to preach the gospel to every creature. Personal evangelism, soul winning, church planting, and worldwide missions are central responsibilities of Bible-believing churches.

13. The Second Coming Of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible, bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the blessed hope of Christ’s coming for His saints and His future return to establish His kingdom.

14. Heaven And Hell

We believe Heaven is the eternal home of the redeemed and Hell is the place of eternal punishment for the lost. Every person will spend eternity either with the Lord or separated from Him.

15. Civil Government

We believe civil government is ordained of God for the order and protection of society. Christians should obey lawful authority except when such authority commands disobedience to God.

16. Individual Responsibility

We encourage visitors to personally examine the doctrine, preaching, standards, and ministry practices of any church listed in this directory. A listing is intended as a helpful starting point, not a final endorsement of every position held by a church.
